Hey guys, long time no see. This the infamous "El Guapo" from years ago. I now belong to a clan The Devils Brigade. As far as GRAW...really dont have any desire to play it. I am playing with a newly setup computer that if equipped right, SHOULD play it...but the whole GRAW saga/drama has put a negative spin on it for me. Now, I am loading up COD2, and BF2, since some of my clan play that. GR is I have to admit, going! Too bad, its superceded by- I will stop there! Later, El

Hey Sarge,
Congrats on your years of service with UPS and retirement! Do you have plans for what you want to do when you retire other than starting that apprenticeship?

As far as GRAW, I see so many BF2 servers and a lot of good peeps out there who are really into the game that it makes it difficult to consider another game. I once joined up with a squadleader who really had a clue. He was great at the what where, how, and why's of the map. Great on comms as well as tactics, he let us know when we were coming up on a base, ready to get out of the vehicle, capture the flag and then back in and off to the next objective. He told us what kind of kits he'd like us to bring. I found that really helped as he let us know in advance what we were going to do next, demo the artillery, UAV van, etc Medic, support, couple of special forces etc. We racked up a bunch of points playing as an organized squad. Other players have been pretty helpful with tips on flying the choppers, switching out between gunner and pilot seats and giving feedback on how you're doing. Wish I had more time to play and much quicker fingers on the keys!
Anyway, I've ccome across a few BF2 players in my daily travels but not the first GRAW. I'd have to see someone play it before I could get excited about it. For now it's BF2 and perhaps an expansion pack or two. Hopefully I'll see a familiar name or two out there!

From one job to another is not really retiring. I'm just trying it out to see if that's what I want to do for now. Will take up fishing again, maybe retake my flight physical and go flying again. Now that the day is coming closer to retire, I'm imagining all the time in the world to do anything I want to. And Rat the ASE guys would really enjoy your company to do some BF2, and now the new 2142. I could pm you their comms ip and then you can take it from there. I have been playing AA, and 2142 with them. Let me know.

Sarge, Congrats again on your retirement per your post in another thread. I guess I might have been a bit too quick saying congrats above but hey, sounds like it's for real now.
Thanks for the ASE offer. I'll just continue to mess around and play on servers until something just feels right. Lol, I did it again the other day - 0 point game. I did have 2 points - a flag neutralize point and perhaps an ammo supply point. Then I got in a jeep and backed into someone else's vehicle and got penalized for team vehicle damage! Ended that game at 0. I know Gav will be most impressed. I don't know if it's possible to have negative points at the end of a game (at least not yet) I made up for it with 5 points on the next game. I guess I won't be getting the 2142 pack quite yet!
Lep plays BF2 as often as he's allowed and seems to be doing pretty well. He's mastering helo's and jets. I think he hovers about 100 points per game. Not too shabby!

While it takes about an hour to download, the BF2142 demo isn't bad and a nice intro to the game. It has full multiplayer capabilities, though only one map to play. Playing it has definately made me decide to buy it soon.

I am quite impressed, actually - you've got to go some to lose all the points you score in a round in "friendly fire" incidents! And yes it is possible to get a negative score. Is 5 points your best round then?? ;D
